Withdrawal and refunds

If your plans change before coverage starts, you are entitled to a full refund. Here is how it works.

1. When the refund is full

You are entitled to a refund of the full amount if:

  • the coverage start date has not yet been reached, i.e. the policy is not active yet;
  • you contact us reasonably in advance of the start date.

To request it, write to info@insuranceforvisitukraine.com with the policy number and the reason.

2. When a refund is not possible

  • the coverage period has already started;
  • the policy has been used to cross a border checkpoint or to obtain a visa;
  • a claim has been filed against the policy;
  • more than 30 days have passed since the purchase date.

3. Statutory right of withdrawal

Regardless of the law, our rule is simple: before coverage starts we always refund the full amount, and you do not have to prove a reason.

The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for insurance contracts under § 8 of the German Insurance Contract Act (VVG) does not apply to contracts with a term of less than one month (§ 8(3) VVG). This covers most policies bought here. For policies with a longer term, mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected; in that case please contact us by email.

4. Partial refunds

In exceptional cases we consider partial refunds at our discretion. For example, if the trip becomes significantly shorter before departure, we can issue a shorter replacement policy and refund the difference.

5. Technical issues

If the payment was charged but you did not receive the policy because of a technical error on our side, you are entitled to choose between:

  • immediate re-delivery of the policy;
  • a full refund.

Contact us within 24 hours if you believe a technical error has occurred.

6. How to request a refund

Send an email to info@insuranceforvisitukraine.com with:

  • first and last name;
  • policy number (found in the PDF);
  • email address used for the purchase;
  • reason for the request.

We process requests within 2 business days. The amount returns to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on the bank or card network.
